HOW BATTINBURG CAKES GOT STARTED

Battin is our name, delicious cakes are our game. The company name originates with the delicious British Battenberg cake. (You can learn all about it at Wikipedia). At the time of our company's inception, we lived in the small town of MiamisbBURG, Ohio. Look at "Batten"; drop the "E," add an "I" and...Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boo!!!! We had our name. Leaving Miamisburg behind, we now live in beautiful Charlotte, NC and bask in the snow-free winters and the "Yes ma'ams" from the kids at the grocery store.

Battinburg Cakes has been a lot of years in the making…from cooking as a child at grandmother’s knee to the first professional culinary school cake class in 1989 to now, we have made more good things than we can count!  Cakes, pies, tarts, tartlets, pizza, pasta; and have now perfected allergy and gluten free versions of our most popular recipes.  We firmly believe that a portion of the good flavor begins with the eye; seeing something beautiful to eat encourages us to savor the flavor. Life is not meant to be drab!!!! Each of our creations is prepared with care and with attention to finding the finest ingredients.  Since light is not to be hidden beneath a bushel, we have decided we are meant to share our gift for making beautiful and delicious desserts and treats with you. We hope you enjoy what we create as much as we enjoy creating it from scratch for you.
